My mom wasnt a very good cook, (she was an organic chemist who also went to the 'recipes are just guidelines' school---sometimes it worked, more times it didnt) I did inherit the cooking gene--my grandfather was a baker and about half of my siblings can cook, the other half---beware of the tomaine! I can use a recipe or do it off the fly, my husband MUST use a recipe (or well, pass the digestive aids). He is getting better under my tutelage (we dont let him cook with chocolate though....baaaad things have happened with that).

Ok....must change that to college guys (men) will eat anything....ladies usually have a more discernible palate! (verene I hope you are a she...or I will have to amend this to almost all college guys)

Neo......(shakes head)....sigh.

And snow....seems everyone forgets how to drive in it even though up north its around for about half of the year (or more).....had some a week or so ago....got some today, and yes.....its amazing the poor (quality) drivers that are allowed to drive.

As long as the food is wraped properly and no molds are growing on it. I will not care if it has been in the fridge for a month before being eaten.

I can see cosy smiling with all this talk about food. Here is a food question for you. If you had to live on 2 items of food for 1 year and 1 was a loaf of bread, what would the other be?

Mine would be peanut butter.

LOL, cosy. Yeah, I'm a she

And don't start me on how people drive in the snow. It snowed all last night and they really take their time in clearing the shopping center that the store I work at is in, so leaving at 9:30 last night was like driving on a skating rink. What was obnoxious though was on my way home, being stuck behind someone going 20mph. On a main road. That had been salted already. Go the damn speed limit you morons!

I mean really, you'd think that around here, considering how messed up the weather is in Chicago, people would be used to such things, but apparently not...

Hmmmm, that's a hard one...I want to say either pasta, or baked potato soup.

sigh....papa johns....oh well guess thats what happens with THIS crowd.

now back to rockys question...what kind of loaf of bread is that??? whole wheat? multi grain?????
and then you said FOOD, and with bread being a composite to begin with...we could say pizza or sushi as the other....(though I was thinking the island....and then I wondered just HOW we got the bread-----so I had eggs or tomatoes at that point).....

and living for one year on only 2 foods....where is that nutritionist when you need them.....are we going to be taking multi vitamins as well????

sorry guess I just over thought about it.

but I would have to say
chocolate

and yes the drivers in chicago are horrible snow drivers (I grew up there and my first day of drivers ed was late december---right AFTER a big ice storm....yep bad drivers).

et glad you agree with me....velvetta is not cheese....kraft makes some good products, that is not one of them.

and never a fan of bbq anything.

You're a strange, strange woman. but then again, most people think my diet is weird because it consists entirely of meat, dairy, bread and potatoes, sometimes tomato sauces.i don't plan on living all that long ~__~

I'm not much of a fan of BBQ stuff either. I'm not really much of a meat-eater in general, though; I dislike red meat and only eat it when I suddenly crave a cheeseburger (I am anemic but can't take iron pills because they make me too sick, so when my iron levels get too low I start suddenly craving cheeseburgers).

Never had Papa John's. I don't think there's one near me, and I'm generally not a fan of chain pizza places.

What is wrong with Papa John's Cosy?!?! It's good stuff! Better than Pizza Hut imo. Though not better than the some of the non fast pizza chains.

Chocolate... Words can't describe my love for them.

So apparently Pepsi makes me less stuffed up? Very strange...

Dark chocolate is the best stuff ever.

And yay for Pepsi. I have some Pepsi Throwback right now, but it's a bit sweeter than I like. Weird, too, as I've had Pepsi that was made with sugar instead of corn syrup before (when I was in England) and it didn't taste any sweeter than I was used to then.

Pizza hut is my least favorite pizza place in town, for pizza at least. Their wings are beyond amazing.
